This piece was inspired in part by Harry Potter and the wonder of winged creatures. Handcrafted with copper wire loomed wings of black iridescent and cobalt blue glass beads, the top section is a chime orb that mimics the luminous jewel-toned colors of a rainbow. Light amber cubic zirconia eyes are set in intricately woven, inset swirls.
Suspended below is a crackled clear-glass globe encircled by an intricate copper wire design with jewel-toned glass bead accents woven in.
The suncatcher is finished by a chandelier crystal ball in a beautiful shade of cranberry-plum, and the whole piece is hanging on a handmade copper chain with multi-shades of glass bead charms embellishing the top. Original design by Amanda’s Treasures.
I suggest my suncatchers are hung in a window, under an overhang or porch, as glass will eventually fade over time if continually exposed to the elements. The copper will age to a beautiful patina but will rust if consistently exposed to moisture.
