Pink Blossom Copper Bookmark

Full of several shades of pink with lots of glitters. This bookmark focal was a brand new brochure that I took the active part off, sanded the edges, and wove into place. When I have an odd-shaped item, it makes it easier to add coils and curves to enhance the look.

I wove this design with five different weave patterns, which add texture and contrast.

I oxidized the copper to an exquisite patina, adding depth and contrast of color in the metal. I then tumbled the bookmark with steel shot; this strengthens the piece and adds a high gloss to the copper.

One of my favorite features of the bookmark is the swirls that grace the end.
