With a 2.75-inch faceted point prism crystal, this suncatcher is stunning in its faceted splendor.
I first shape and cut heavy gauge wire into jump rings, each jump ring of the chain is formed and then cut, after cutting the rings are put through a tumbler for several days to shine and strengthen the copper. Three larger extra heavy duty jump rings have been added to the top of the design, suspended by copper wire within these jump rings are three crystals in red, lavender, and clear. After linking the jump rings together to form a strong chain, I bead the copper balled headpins (which I have made by the use of a torch).
I have placed each bead grouping with care to add a deliberate whimsical feel to Serendipity II. Some of the bead types used are crystal, copper, seed beads, bicone, and bumpy lampwork beads in vivid colors and textures. Included with each design is a hanging hook and spinner. Serendipity will be a wonderful gift for someone special or to treat yourself. Original design handmade with love and dedication by Amanda’s Treasures
I suggest my suncatchers are hung in a window, under an overhang or porch, as glass will eventually fade over time if continually exposed to the elements. The copper will age to a beautiful patina but will rust if consistently exposed to moisture.
